April is Such an Inspiring Month Here at Cornerstone!

Firstly, we celebrate Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus, giving eternal life for all who believe in Him. Secondly, April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Here at Cornerstone, we could not do the important work of feeding, sheltering and clothing people in crisis without all of our dedicated volunteers.

Our Food Cupboard is an all-volunteer operation and the Clothing Bank, Etc and Community Kitchen are dependent on volunteers for a large part of their everyday work. We are blessed that so many people follow their heart and offer their time to help people who are undergoing difficult times.

In addition to our regular volunteers, we have community groups, churches, businesses and others who come in and help with projects, repair our buildings, or create fundraisers/drives for food, warm clothes, diapers, or other items that we send out the alert that we are in need of.

While Jesus walked this earth, he was particularly drawn to people in need who were overlooked by others. Today, our volunteers work hard so the people we work with know that there are people out there who care about them and want to make their lives better.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the staff here at Cornerstone, I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers who show the real meaning of love and compassion every day.
